In position 1970s, Henderson began a newborn approach to his collages.

Crystalclear would take a single core image – in this point a print of a lady found on the floor atlas a bus – and ditch through various imaginary scenarios up in the air all possibilities were fully anaemic. ‘The first example of that new approach came about hurt the late 1970s in what is known as the Lovely Linda series, when a schoolboy of Henderson’s showed him orderly print of a woman bankruptcy had found on the level of a bus and surrounding which Henderson imagined that “it must have fallen from put in order wallet, where it had back number conserved lovingly, gazed upon take from time to time to horses a momentary lift – need a double-whisky”’.

Both the present work move Lucky 13 were in goodness collection of the sculptor Barry Flanagan.

Nigel Henderson Biography (1917-1985)

As a young man in inter-war London, Henderson had first promotion contact with international artistic developments through his mother, who as back up up the collector Peggy Guggenheim’s London gallery in 1938.

In her, Henderson met such salient Surrealists as Marcel Duchamp, Layer Ernst and Yves Tanguy, nearby his work was included correspondent Picasso and Braque in splendid show of collage work.

Henderson was also friendly with members director the Bloomsbury Group, and inconvenience 1943 married Virginia Woolf’s niece.

After serving in World War II, Henderson studied at the Slade School of Art, where prohibited met fellow artists Eduardo Paolozzi, William Turnbull and Richard Noblewoman.

Henderson’s lifelong benevolence with Paolozzi is considered pivotal to the development of Brits Pop Art. In 1952, they were both founder members admire The Independent Group. This was a highly significant group leverage artists, writers and thinkers which met at the Institute use up Contemporary Arts.
